My documentary wedding photography style
Making you look great without posing.
I'm a multi-award winning documentary wedding photographer, author and international speaker. Having started photographing weddings at the age of 16 (initially shooting on film) I've photographed over 500 weddings all over Yorkshire and the rest of the UK, as well as destination weddings abroad.
For me, the most important thing about photographing your wedding is that you get to live and love every second of your day. Whilst I will of course take any portraits or groups that you request, my focus is on capturing you and your guests right there in the moment - not posing for the camera or pretending to fiddle with your tie, but really experiencing every second of your day alongside your loved ones.
"Every photo managed to capture our wedding day so perfectly... We have had so many people come to us and tell us the photos are the best they have seen and we feel so proud of this. It’s been amazing to show my Grandma them, who now feels she was part of the day even though she couldn’t make it."

Founder of York Place Studios
I photograph weddings alongside my brother, Liam Shaw and together we are York Place Studios. Working seamlessly as two prime photographers rather than one prime and a second, we capture every angle of your wedding - the big moments, the hilarious moments and the tiny moments that you never got to be a part of.
